BNP Paribas outperforms in latest Hedge Fund Administration and Prime Brokerage surveys

We are pleased to announce BNP Paribas outperformed the global average overall in Global Custodian’s 2018 Hedge Fund Administration and Prime Brokerage Surveys, which are conducted in association with AON McLagan Investment Services

Both surveys provide an annual barometer of client experience across the fund administration and prime brokerage industries. The scope of this year’s surveys were expanded to offer greater insights into shifting client demands and to allow for a more detailed assessment of service quality provided by administrators in both disciplines.

For Hedge Fund Administration, we were delighted to achieve outstanding results in banking, middle-office services, investor reporting, cyber-security, and price categories, as well as scoring the highest across the board for fund accounting. Overall BNP Paribas placed second globally out of 15 qualifying providers.

The strong ratings follow our recent success at the HFM European Services Awards 2018 where we were awarded “Best depository solution”, in addition to picking up two accolades at last month’s HFM US Hedge Fund Services Awards 2018 in “best administrator” categories.

Diarmuid Ryan, Global Head of Hedge Fund Services at BNP Paribas Securities Services, said:

“We would like to extend our gratitude to clients who took the time to provide feedback that is invaluable to our business. Building a sustainable partnership with our clients is a core priority for us. This survey is a great way to hear directly from clients what we are doing well and where they see room for improvement. And while the results are overwhelmingly positive, we are always looking for ways to further enhance the client experience.”

For Prime Brokerage, results were equally favourable, with BNP Paribas ranking number one out of 24 providers in six categories and attracting the second highest number of client responses. Highlights included topping the list for client services for the sixth consecutive year, and ranking as an outperformer with near perfect scores in eight out of 16 categories. BNP Paribas also ranked number one for swaps, financing and delta one; asset safety, fixed income assets, risk management and trading and execution.

The two results are particularly encouraging as they reflect a strategic commitment by BNP Paribas to offer clients a holistic solution that encompasses the full spectrum of fund activities – from the front office to back office.

Ian Lynch, Head of Alternative Investors at BNP Paribas Securities Services, said:

“The market is changing and clients are looking for ways to operate as efficiently as possible. By combining our long history of core fund administration with a thriving prime brokerage arm, our aim is to provide clients with a one-stop-shop solution that is underpinned by excellent client service, and these results show that we’re on track.”
